BLEASS Phaser is a comprehensive phasing effect that offers a wide range of sonic possibilities, from resonant swirls to impressive atmospheric stereo sounds. The enchanting Spectrum View aligns with the notch frequencies, adding both a pleasing auditory and visual dimension to the sound design process.
Renowned across music genres, from Queen to Chromeo, Jean-Michel Jarre to Tame Impala, the phaser effect is highly versatile for various instruments like synthesizers, guitars, bass, and vocals. A modulation toolkit is incomplete without a phaser. BLEASS Phaser fulfills this need by providing classic phasing effects through 40 meticulously crafted presets. Additionally, it offers an array of stereo functionalities and intricate modulations facilitated by its frequency and spread LFOs, allowing precise control over the stereo field.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:
The phaser effect functions by processing the signal through successive all-pass filters and then combining the result with the original signal to create phase cancellation around specific frequencies (notches). A feedback loop reintroduces a portion of the processed signal back into the filter chain.
PHASER stage:
- Notches: adjusts the number of all-pass filters; each additional filter introduces a new notch in the signal spectrum, with a range from 1 to 24 notches.
- Frequency: sets the central frequency of the phaser, i.e., the frequency of the all-pass filters.
- Spread: determines the spacing between the notches by altering the Q factor of the filters.
- Feedback: controls the level of processed signal fed back into the filter chain, with an option for negative feedback.
- Feedback Color: defines the frequency of a low-pass filter applied to the feedback signal.
- Spectrum: displays a spectral view indicating the estimated frequency position of the notches; adjustments can be made by interacting with this view.
FREQUENCY LFO & SPREAD LFO stages:
Sine LFOs modulate both the center frequency and spread parameter of the phaser:
- Sync: toggles between syncing options - BEAT (synchronized with host transport and tempo) and FREE.
- Shape: selects LFO shape between Sine and Triangle.
- Rate: establishes LFO rate in Hertz for Free sync or as a fraction of a bar for Beat sync.
- Phase: adjusts the phase disparity between left and right channels.
- Amount: sets the LFO amplitude.
MIX stage:
- Depth: controls the balance between the dry input signal and the processed signal through filters. At 100% Depth, both signals are equally prominent in the mix.
